I am the Founder and Executive Director of Hope Restoration South Sudan, a National Women Led NGO legally registered and operating in South Sudan since March 23rd 2010. The backbone of Hope Restoration is ending Gender Based Violence and Child marriages. I am a Women’s Rights’ defender and advocate for reforms on ending all forms of violence against women and girls in South Sudan. I am personate about women, Girls’ and youths Socio-economic empowerment and building resilient communities capable of recovering from disasters and lead relatively normal lives after the aftermath. I am committed to conserving the environment through championing movements and campaigns on Environmental conservation.
I hold a diploma in International Relations from Leaders Institute of legal studies, Kenya, a BA in International Relations from Cavendish University Uganda, a Master’s Degree in Humanitarian and Conflict studies from The University of Juba South Sudan, and currently pursuing Master’s degree in International Relations at Liverpool John Morris University.
For 12 years, I worked in the Humanitarian and Development sectors and enabled me to understand the plight of the local communities, a move which gave me the courage and passion to start a community based organization – Hope Restoration South Sudan. I worked in the capacities of; GBV Manager for Assistant mission for Africa (AMA) in Nairobi, served as head of programs for Disaster Management Trust (DMT) in Bentiu, Unity state, South Sudan and in other technical capacities.
I have had the privilege to Chair and be part of several forums, coalitions and platforms both nationally and internationally.
On National representation:
I have chaired South Sudan NGO Forum twice, we have over 356 NNGOs and 112 INGOs in South Sudan, it help me to learn more in managing different groups of NGOs with various interest and needs within the humanitarian space in South Sudan.
Currently, I am the Deputy Chair for NNGOs in South Sudan NGO forum, and I represents the National Non-Governmental Organizations (NNGO) in the Humanitarian Country Team (HCT) in South Sudan. I am a member of Friends of Gender (FOGG) a forum that holds the grand bargain signatories accountable to the grand bargain commitments signed in 2016 on the localization agenda and a member of the South Sudan Women’s Coalition that took part in the peace talks in 2015 and 2018.
In addition, I am a Council Member of the National Education Coalition (NEC) as well as a member of Inter-Agency Standing Committee (IASC) for protection Policy Review. A Co-Founder of South Sudan women pool fund comprising of 45 women led Organizations that advocates for women rights issues at humanitarian space.
On International representations:
As a chair of the South Sudan Hub, a member of the Start Network, I was invited to participate in the Hub fellowship in Doha Qatar from September 28th to October 2nd 2024.
In January 2022, I was elected as the chair person for ELRHA GBV Technical Working group for Humanitarian Innovation Fund (HIF) for two years, HIF is a globally-recognized programme leading on the development (ELRHA Stands for Enhancing Learning and Research for Humanitarian Assistance)
In November 2022, I had the privilege to address a plenary of delegates during Preventing Sexual Violence in Conflict (PSV) in London.
In 2019, I addressed the UN Security Council on the issues of Sexual Gender Based Violence (SGBV/CRSV) in South Sudan. As an outcome of the UN Security council meeting, I was selected among the representatives of South Sudan civil society to participate in a forum to discuss the dire humanitarian situation in South Sudan in New York.
I am also, as a member of Alliance for empowering Partnerships (A4EP), a global South Civil Society network championing the global South Voices.
In Nov 2019, I participated in the review of grant bargain policy under Friends of Gender group with a view to making it gender sensitive held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
In 2024, I participated as A4EP principal to give briefing on the grand bargain on challenges facing localization agenda and local partners having access to multi year funding and risk sharing. To check the achievement and challenges before 2026 which will mark 10 years of grand bargain
In 2025, I have been elected as the deputy chair for A4EP in the ICC committee, this role adds more responsibility in the advocacy space and claiming the space for the local actors representation with the Humanitarian system and push for meaningful localization in practice not by words alone.
