My name is Gum Sha Aung and has been working with Metta Development Foundation (Metta) since 2000. Metta is a non-governmental organization, established in 1998 to assist communities in Myanmar recovery from the devastating consequences of conflict and humanitarian emergency. Currently, I am working as Metta’s Executive Director from 2019. I have been actively engaging on localization agenda through several networks that include Joint Strategy Team (JST) for Kachin and Northern Shan Humanitarian Responses, Myanmar Local Humanitarian Network (MLHN) and Local Intermediary Actors (LIA) in this given context. I am also a member of Humanitarian Country Team (HCT) in Myanmar. I am holding Master of Arts in Development studies.
